Galina grew up in London, Ontario and started her career in the animal health care field as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 1998. She spent the next few years working in Vancouver, British Columbia and then London, England where she gained valuable experience in everything from emergency care to horses and exotics. She decided to further her passion for veterinary medicine by pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2009. Galina also pursued her lifelong interest in holistic and alternative medicine by becoming a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and Certified Food Therapist at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Florida. Currently, she is undertaking the Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist qualification. She incorporates Food Therapy into her Acupuncture appointments, using certain foods to balance the body and aid in healing while treating specific conditions with acupuncture. Dr. Galina believes in using all the tools we have available in medicine to achieve wellness. These include lifestyle, nutrition, exercise and a balanced approach to healthcare. By drawing on her expertise in traditional veterinary medicine, acupuncture, food therapy and herbals, Dr. Galina is able to provide truly integrative veterinary care to London Alternative Veterinary Service’s patients. Prior to establishing London Alternative Veterinary Services, Dr.Galina had been practicing at Bloorcourt Veterinary Clinic in Toronto,On.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Like most people in the veterinary field, Jen has loved animals since she was young - her first word “Pavvy” was actually her dog’s name - Pavlov, the family German Shepherd. This love stayed with her as she grew up, eventually leading her to pursue her diploma of veterinary technology at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus. After her graduation in 2010, Jen achieved the status of Registered Veterinary Technician through the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, a title she is proud to maintain to this date. Although her education and career would be considered more “conventional”, including working and volunteering at various animal hospitals within London and even a short stay at a dog grooming salon, Jen has always carried an interest and enthusiasm in alternative medicine, especially massage therapy, where she hopes to pursue further training in the near future. Jen has lived in London, On her entire life and proudly calls Old East Village home where she and her husband share their home with their own fur family - including three cats and a dog. She is passionate about helping families provide the best care for their pets and she looks forward to getting to know you and your furry family.
